style="color: #808080;">"I'm turning 25, it's the big 2-5, that's like a quarter of a century!" I told my BED Fellows a month ago. Known as a 'Birthday Party Planner,' this year I handed my job to the creative & operations team. The night was painted with silver & gold decor, DJs from Space, Ibiza, a live singer by the name of Asambai, and a non-stop flow of Vodka & Prosecco. Being unable to do this makes you useless”. Wow, what a shock. I was actually feeling so proud of myself after what I thought was a perfect night as a DJ… having the crowd dancing non-stop for 2 or 3 hours. But apparently for some people, especially the Club owner, I was wrong.

After trying to understand what was the problem, starting to chat with the bar manager to have his point of view, I finally realized what I was doing wrong or to be more precise, what I was not doing. READING THE CROWD or CROWD CONTROL.

Following my strong “one way” conversations I had with my boss, I finally learnt after many months what all the staff of the club, including my boss, really wanted me to understand. I could then clearly read between the lines of what they all wanted to tell me : “Be diverse with the music you play. Get the crowd on the dance floor, make them dance, sweat, scream, have them to put their hands in the air… and when they least expect it… change your music style, empty the dance floor, change the pace, let them chat, let them flirt, let them breathe and finally let them ORDER A DRINK… Then get those not dancing on to the dance floor back.

I often end the night with the satisfaction of having pleased most of the guests in the club instead of my faithful and dedicated fan club. And usually, my boss is happy too.

I learnt these rules in 1991 and it still works in 2009. Bed Supperclub is the perfect place where I can apply these rules of DJ life as the crowd is so diverse that it is a real challenge playing every Friday and Saturday and trying to please the majority.

<a

I couldn't help but to ask, "Is it your first time at Bed?"

Of course, the guests are not the only ones in bed with us for the first time. Joining the crowd was Juggy D, UK's first Bhangra artist singing live at Bed Supperclub for the first time.

I don't know about you but if I have never been in Bed before, I'd be wondering, what do I need? What do I wear? What do I say? What do I order? What time should I go? Here are some useful facts from my experience in Bed.

Check the Calendar

Something is always happening in Bed, it's probably a good idea to know what kind of music, theme, dress code, to the kind of crowd you prefer to mingle with.

Safe bet: Pop Champagne with the Bangkok Invaders. (Hip-Hop/Bar, House/Restaurant)

2. Bed Time

If you're a non-stop body mover then reserve a bed for yourself, you never know what's going to happen in bed but I promise what happens in bed stays in bed

Safe bet: Reserve a Bed on the 2nd floor if it's your first time, you'll have fun dancing and plus people watching is fun.

3. Dress to Impress

Yes to gold, yes to red, yes to blue, yes to green, and yes to all the other colors. You can never get too over dressed as long as you're not in shorts or flip flop or anything that makes the bouncers' head turns.

Safe bet: Just be yourself, express it!

4. Bartender Baby

Be in the know and ask for an x-rated vodka if you want to because believe it or not they do have it. Expect the unexpected when it comes to the cocktails and shots when you're in Bed. I am still trying to figure out what that mysterious shot was!

Safe bet: Beach Soccer or Vanilla Martini (yum)

<a
